Friends Cemetery

NYQM’s 160-year-old Quaker burial ground is located in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. NYC Quakers hosts events at the cemetery, including an annual open house for the public.

Friends General Conference (FGC)

FGC is an association of local and regional Quaker organizations primarily in the United States and Canada. FGC provides services and resources for individual Quakers, Quaker meetings, and people interested in the Quaker faith and practice.

Friends Schools

New York City has three Friends Schools in a care relationship with the New York Quarter: Friends Seminary, Brooklyn Friends, and the Mary McDowell Friends School.

Friends Shelter

Friends Shelter is a year-round homeless shelter sponsored by the 15th Street Meeting that provides shelter and hospitality for twelve homeless men and women every night of the year. Volunteers are welcome.

Friends United Meeting (FUM)

FUM is a global association of Christ-centered Quakers, embracing thirty-seven Yearly Meetings, including NYYM, and many Friends’ Associations.

Friends World Committee for Consultation (FWCC)

The Friends World Committee for Consultation, through its four world-wide section offices, encourages fellowship among all the branches of the Religious Society of Friends around the globe, spanning a rich diversity of regional cultures, beliefs, and styles of worship. NYYM is affiliated with FWCC.

New York Yearly Meeting (NYYM)

The NYYM is the governing body that supports the ministry and witness of Friends in NY, NJ, and Western CT, including NYQM, with programs such as the Alternatives to Violence Project, Bolivian Quaker Education Fund, Friends Peace Teams, War Resistors League, and others.

Powell House

Powell House is NYYM’s inter-generational conference and retreat center in Old Chatham, NY. Offers a variety of Quaker-centered programming.
